The lightweight surround increases OEM excursion levels for a strong bass response and proper upper frequency edge damping. 
The upper midrange transitions over to the new D-T25 high output 25mm soft dome tweeter.
These speakers optimize the wattage available from OEM entertainment systems to deliver a fuller, clearer and louder sound field and they do this without alterations to the electrical system.
