The Air Motion Transformer (ATM) represents a concept that does not require a voice coil, is similar in principle to ribbon technology, but has the distinctive feature that the diaphragm is folded accordion-like.
The advantages of this technology: the wafer-thin membrane made of Mylar foil weighs just 0.08 grams for a surface area of 50 square centimeters - a significantly more favorable mass-to-area ratio than conventional dome tweeters, resulting in outstanding efficiency and advantageous impulse response.
